SO HEY Athena is has superhuman perception of emotion. Essential she can "hear" people's hearts- or read their emotions through the sound of their voice. This is the most pronounced when people are experiencing conflicting/contradictory emotions. Mostly this just manifests to her as "noise" which she can help sort out with the help of her Magical AI Necklace (ACE ATTORNEY IS A GAME ABOUT LAWYERS MUCH LIKE PRINCE OF TENNIS IS ABOUT TENNIS). This here post is to opt into two things and it also fails in canon a lot for no real reason so ehn. Playing fast and loose.


THING ONE: IS YOUR EMOTIONS WEIRD People who's emotions are in a huge state of flux or you don't have real human feelings or assorted other things. She probably won't be able to like- actually put the pieces together, but if you want her to sense something ~weird~ about your feels she can.


THING TWO: DO YOU WANT A MAGICAL GIRL THERAPY SESSION so her magical AI necklace thing can help her sort out the noise she's hearing- which also means helping people put their confused emotions back in order. In canon it's useful for people having a hard time remembering traumatic events, people lying to themselves SO ON. If you would like Athena to come badger you and help u sort ur heart I would love to have some folks to do that for.


BONUS THING THREE ARE YOU A ROBOT Athena wants more robot friends. :3c Marine megafauna friends are also acceptable.

ROBOT FRIENDS YOU SAY Yuuichi wants more human friends. Everything friends. FRIENDS IN GENERAL also he would be fascinated with her necklace.

Feel free to handwave picking up on his emotions through his voice/vocalizations somehow despite him being a robot too if you want-- he doesn't actually stray from a sort of neutral/conversational tone even when he's having feelings everywhere but he does provide little musical/sound cues for his mood.

NEAL IS A CON MAN LYING LIAR although since he's not quite as miserable in court as he was at first there isn't quite as much discrepancy between his actual feelings and what he's showing as there was at first. But she's still welcome to notice that there's far more of a ping of sad/lonely coming from him than it looks like on surface.

That said he does not need magical girl therapy and would in fact freak out a bit if he knew she could read him like that, but since he's kind of inserting himself into the AA cast he has a reason to stick around anyway and actually that'd be pretty interesting to play with.
